She was a curious she-cat by nature. It wasn't her fault. The gods molded most cats with that certain personality trait. Rainpaw never really complained about it. She loved exploring and learning about new things. As long as no one who annoys her is around when she does it.
Her gray body stood out in the grassy clearing. She was by herself for once. Her mentor said to bring back as much prey as she could. Rainpaw was determined to bring back much prey so her mentor would allow her to do this once more. It's not that she was antisocial, she just didn't like idiots ruining her hunting expedition. So long as they kept their mouth shut and only talked when they couldn't find prey Rainpaw would be a great hunting partner.
Her amber eyes scanned the area. She was taking a break, knowing that the only thing she would find in this area would be twigs and random items. It was fun if she found something important though. Last time she was here with her mentor, they found something extremely shiny. They left it here, but when they came back,it was gone
"Why is everyone so serious nowadays" Rainpaw wondered. She would probably work out the answer by herself within a few minutes. The she-cat was like that for some reason. She was only wondering about this because the warriors seemed more tense. Whatever the reason, curiosity was going to get her injured someday.

Blizzardshard's ear twitched when he heard the apprentice's words. He didn't dare let himself speak though, until the brought down the raven just three tail lengths in front of him. Two more paw-steps closer, and he pounced. The bird didn't even have enought time to open it's beak to give a warning call before Blizzardshard broke it's neck between hs powerful jaws. He picked it up and buried it at the roots of a tree, scratching the bark to mark the area. He flicked his tail to summon Rainpaw, wanting to go to a quieter place so they wouldn't scare off anymore potential prey.

She didn't really seem to care if someone heard her talking to herself. More likely, she hoped they would hear her so they could answer her question. She still hadn't come up with an answer. Rainpaw wasn't a fool though. She knew she had to get one of the older warriors to tell her. And we all know that wouldn't happen without a clever cat. Good thing Rainpaw had already fooled herself into believing she was.
Rainpaw turned around quickly,as soon as the scent of fresh-kill caught her nose. Her hearing hadn't been keen enough to hear the warrior behind her. She cursed herself quietly. 'What if he was waiting for me to scent him" she wondered out loud. She was just being to harsh. That was how all apprentices acted at times. They just couldn't help it.
She followed after the warrior obediently. It's not like she could disobey him. He may not be her mentor, but she still respected all the older warriors.Maybe that's why she was much more curious as to why they were acting the way they were. 'We're probably going to the creek' she thought. In reality it wasn't that great. It was just a small creek in a small clearing a little bit aways from where she was. Rainpaw figured that she could ask him then.
Of course fate always has another plan. Rainpaw's nose scented the shrew and her body was ready to shoot after it. She had another peice of prey from before she entered the clearing. She looked at Blizzardshard and veered towards the scent of the shrew. She had a feeling he wouldn't be angry. She was just getting food.

And in fact, Blizzardshard wasn't angry. The only motion he made to indicate that he knew Rainpaw left was a twitch of his ear. He didn't even stop walking. He just continued on his merry way until he got to the creek. He bent forward to take a few drinks from the water before righting himself and sitting down. His tail wrapped neatly around his paws, waiting for the young she-cat to return with her catch.

Rainpaw knew the tom wasn't angry. She wouldn't have been so confident if he was angry. She had started walking and before she could slip through the undergrowth she turned around. Thankfully she turned around a that moment. Blizzardshard simply gave a twitch of his ear. That was enough to send Rainpaw on her way.
Call Rainpaw whatever you will, but she didn't disrespect anyone higher than her. Some of the other apprentices called her a goody two-shoes because of that. I don't truly see why. She just wanted to show the older cats that she knew where her place was.Nothing like those other loud-mouth apprentices that's for sure.
Her body made sure to slip along the grass, becoming one with it. She didn't want the shrew to have any idea she was around. Her amber eyes were narrowed with concentration. She watched it for a few seconds, knowing it was a little bit suspicous. Wouldn't you be? If you were one of the few animals in the forest besides the cats, you'd probably be on red alert at all times. At least that's how I would be if I was a shrew.
She watched for only a second longer. Then her body shot out like a snake, snatching the shrew up and biting it's neck as it fell down. She was so happy that she got the prey that she gave a purr.
