Starless
An ancient betrayal leaves a clan trapped in anarchy.

It's a strange forum.
One of the oddest aspects is the warriors themselves. In light, the cats gain anthropomorphic qualities. Of course, considering the plot, most role play is quadrupedal ("quad"). Despite the fantasy-like concept, cats should be as realistic as possible (while retaining personification). Most cats would be black or tabby with yellow or yellow-green eyes. They live in the desert, so long fur isn't a good idea.
With names, sensibility is required but they don't have to be as honorable as they would elsewhere. The cats are in a dark place, in a literal and emotional sense, so a little gloom is acceptable.
{Plot} RiverClan lives beside a mighty river in the middle of the desert. They are a strict clan. Everyone follows the rules. Always. Or so it used to be.
Sick of being at the mercy of the elements after a bad flood, RiverClan's leader told the clan that they would build a new territory. They didn't realize this meant they would build an edifice. Before they knew what was happening the deputy had set them to work, rolling together boulders and branches and stacking them to encompass a large territory. Of course the whole structure was riddled with mistakes. With every moon the walls grew, tilting inward like a pyramid. When the walls reached their peak, the leader told everyone to go inside. No one disobeyed.
Then the leader and the deputy sealed off the clan and ran away together.
Decades later, the clan is still in tumult. Cats are fighting over who should be leader and whether there should be a leader and if it's worth staying a Clan anymore. There is no medicine cat since no herbs can grow here. Their lives are spent in the vast shadow with streams of light reaching through the cracks. Cobwebs are numerous. The only prey are insects, lizards, and large, firece rats that can kill cats from bite infection. In the day it heats up like a furnace and at night freezing temperatures force every cat to huddle together to keep warm. Water is only available after the rare rains and the seasonal flooding that pours through the walls. Many cats die of thirst, hunger, heat, and cold. Hope is scarce. Yet elders still tell the kits stories of a time when the Clan lived in order and peace beside a beautiful thing called a river, under a mysterious thing called the sky.
Welcome to the enclosure, where there is no StarClan.
It's time to chose what you believe.
{/plot}
At this point all the present cats were born and raised (or are being raised) in the enclosure. They are used to it. Some prefer it to the outside world and some even believe this is the only world that exists. Only the insane think of escape.
The focus of the role play is the dispute over clanhood.
Anarchy is a troublesome thing.
