Life’s a piece of cake,
or a gift from hell.

it might be all you're left with.

[/blockquote][/blockquote][/blockquote]The residents of Costa Mesa know what it's like to be on top of the world. With enough money and connections to feed a small African nation, what could be a more appropriate place to be? An easy life is almost literally handed to the people who live in the lavish mansion.
Nineteen marvelous years ago marked the beginning of an era in this privileged part of Southern California. For three years, children were born that would change the face and reputation of this spic-and-span community. Now between the ages of sixteen and nineteen, the opportunity has arrived to watch them venture through highschool and start college, all the while keeping us entertained with their antics.
And between shopping sprees at the fabulous South Coast Plaza and house parties in the ultra-exclusive Cota de Caza neighborhood, there is plenty to be seen and talked about. These people are the New York socialites of the West Coast, sans the stuck up lifestyle. So grab your Rainbow sandals and vintage Ray-Bans, because it's going to take more than a pretty face to leave your mark in this town...
or a gift from hell.
A five minute drive down Bristol Avenue will take you towards a total three-sixty from the prim Costa Mesa area. Santa Ana is home to the worst types of people; the high amounts of crime and tagging contribute to a less-than-appealing appearance. The only building in the city that has undergone a serious renovation in the last ten years is the courthouse, where many a juvenile delinquints will visit for so-called 'petty offenses'.
While the teenagers of Costa Mesa throw raging house parties, the younger residents of Santa Ana try their hardest to scrape together enough money on Saturday night to buy a five dollar pizza and a few six packs. They've all been taught how to live on the streets and how to hot wire a car. They know the true value of a dollar, rather than the number of times you can swipe daddy's credit card before he gets angry.
In this city you have a few choices concerning your future. You can drop out and work full time, or you be the nerd and try and be the first in your family to set foot on a college campus. It's a fight, in more ways than one, to forge yourself a place in society.
