 welcome to new york, where you are a student at huntington university, an ivy league campus where academics take a back seat to partying, and nothing outshines money. you are among brilliant minds, no doubt, but the extra money that daddy sends with the tuition never hurts grades, either.
though the abundant amount of students who attend classes each day may seem overwhelming, you have find a rather odd kind of comfort in the greek community. no, these are not the characters from mythology you studied in sixth grade, but on second thought, most of these young adults seem to believe they are gods and goddesses. these kids have it all: good grades, good looks, and a love for drama. they all have their respective backgrounds, but at some point, they learned the greek alphabet, paid their dues, and were initiated into more than just a greek chapter: they were brought into a new life.
the greek chapters of the sororities and fraternities on campus are steeped in history, ritual, secrecy, and grandeur. these are organizations that are centuries old, governed by sacred books, based on the honor and dignity of each member. they are dedicated to different mission statements, enriching different values of their members, supporting a variety of philanthropies. but each chapter is only as strong as its weakest member. these kids might have pretty faces and cars, but they’re not strangers to getting dirty. it is college, after all; these kids know how to party. and of course, as will come with any coed environment of young adults, there’s lots of hooking up, breaking up, making up, making out, and rumors to blow it all out of proportion. the greek community might be honorable at its base, but the friendships, rivalries, deceit, and bonds are unlike anything else you can find on this planet.
