Two large light grey ears redirected themselves until they were facing the medicine cat den. Slatestar watched as the medicine cat emerged, before giving her a friendly grin. "Morning, Eaglefeather," he mewed to the brown and cream she cat. Out of the corner of his liquid blue grey eye, he tracked Springpaw as he too tried to navigate his way through the freezing material. The leader bit back a chuckle as the apprentice accidentally bumped into Eaglefeather. Light eyes sparkling with interest, Slatestar turned to Ripplestream as he mentioned the shallows freezing over. He took a moment to think about that. What could it mean? The shallow water freezing over... Could that mean there were some untrustworthy cats in the clan, but they would soon be stopped in their tracks?
Or would an icy layer of pain and betrayal cover the clan in such times of need? "Eaglefeather - what Ripplestream says is true. I too believe that this might be a prophecy of some sort, but we can't figure out it's true meaning ourselves; we need the assistance of a medicine cat." Slatestar meowed, still thinking. But then he smiled softly and turned to Springpaw. "And possibly the help of her apprentice." Although he spoke with confidence, worry clawed at the silver tom's belly. Was he going to simply lead his clan into doom? How would they deal with this possible threat? He didn't have enough to lead the clan through such tough times: he couldn't do it! Or could he? Despite his worries, Slatestar knew he had to stay strong, protect RiverClan at all costs. If not, he'd be the cause of oh-so-many unnecessary deaths.

Ripplestream bobbed his head quickly in agreement, a grin on his muzzle. He always tried to best to lighten the bleak mood Leaf-bare always brought with the bitter winds. And the best way to do that was with humor, he learned. "Maybe it means some giant two-leg with come all covered in snow and sing us songs." He purred, tail tip twitching.

Rainpaw came out of the apprentice den and stretched, her muscles rippleing under her skin. She was quite a pretty aprentice. All the kits when she was a kit wanted to play with her. It was still that way with any aprentice. "Good morning everyone." she purred. She walked over to the food pile. She chose a plump mouse and sat down to eat. A very cold wind blew and she fluffed up her coat. Her pelt was not thick like other cats were.

(OK)
She looked down at it and smiled. Instead of eating it she picked it up and took it to Slatestar. "Here Slatestar. It was the only plump thing in the pile." she purred, flicking her tail.
